Martha F. McDugald

Martha McDugald works extensively on trial and arbitration matters. Prior to joining Ballard & Littlefield, LLP, Ms. McDugald practiced primarily in the areas of bankruptcy law and bankruptcy-related litigation. Ms. McDugald has represented creditors and creditors' committees in many aspects of bankruptcy cases including proceedings related to motions to lift stay, cash collateral motions, claim objections and plan confirmation matters. Ms. McDugald has also been involved in the defense of creditors in numerous preferential and fraudulent transfer actions. Ms. McDugald previously was an associate at Andrews & Kurth, L.L.P., Mayor, Day, Caldwell & Keeton, L.L.P. and Hutcheson & Grundy, L.L.P.

Ms. McDugald was born in San Diego, California. She received her B.S. in speech communication, with honors, from the University of Texas at Austin in 1977, and a J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 1986. Ms. McDugald is a member of the State Bar of Texas, and the Houston Bar Association, and is licensed to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Western Districts of Texas.
